University Places Confirmed with Lower Grades

According to the admissions service, UCAS has said that nearly half (49%) of eighteen-year olds in England, Northern Ireland and Wales, who sat their A-Levels, were accepted at University with lower grades than those that were advertised on their websites. Of those accepted, sixty per cent of applicants from the fifth most disadvantaged backgrounds were accepted on these courses due to contextualised offers, which is where institutions consider factors that can restrict a student’s achievement at school.

Uni Record Applicants

I would say, based on this, now more than ever, it is the best time to apply to go to university as you are more likely to get accepted. Based on students that started in September 2019, a record 541,240 students were accepted onto undergraduate courses and nearly seventy-four per cent of 18-year-olds were accepted onto their first-choice university.

If you are at University, please get in touch and tell us how your experience is going. Any trainee teachers out there currently studying; please give us your experience.
