The role of a Primary School Teacher
Primary teaching is absolutely essential to children’s development, and imparting an early interest in science, mathematics, English or any other subject is paramount to their success in secondary education, as well as to a child’s later life on the whole. Primary teachers form lasting impressions on children, offering not only an educator, but a mentor that allows them to form their own opinions from a young age.
As a primary school teacher you will be creating lesson plans and schemes of work that match the national curriculum objectives. You will be expected to establish strong relationships with your pupils a facilitate their educational and human growth at this early age. You will be helping them develop appropriate social skills in line with their age and aptitude.
You will record all progress and in some years prepare children for national tests such as SATs. Challenging your pupils to further their knowledge and understanding of previous concepts and teachings.
