Classrooms built as they currently are, are only safe for groups of 12 children, a leading architect has stated. A decision by the former education secretary, Michael Gove, to cut classroom dimensions means that some schools cannot accommodate for current post-lockdown ‘bubbles of children.’
Are classrooms safe?
The government has currently recommended that children should be in groups of 15, however the safer measurement should be 12. When schools are told they must bring the rest of the year groups back, how will schools do it? Will it be on a part-time basis? Will children have to return to their groups of 30?
