The government will be reinstating a series of cash incentives for trainee teachers in a variety of subjects, due to a plateau of teacher recruitment during the Covid crisis.
DfE U-Turn
At the end of 2020, the DfE reduced or completely scrapped the bursaries for certain subjects, have now taken a complete U-turn on the matter to ensure that certain teaching subjects have enough relevant applications.
As well as re-introducing the scrapped bursaries, they are increasing awards for certain subjects such as biology and languages.
