Rules for Covid

Last week saw the legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive to Covid, come to an end; this being a massive change as over the last two years, a positive result meant isolation.

If schools it will open up some tricky situations, I’m sure, such as – can you refuse to accept a child into your school who has tested positive for Covid?

Many would consider this, now, discrimination if a school refuses to have a child however the DfE are clear on this: ‘If a parent or carer insists on a pupil attending your school where they have a confirmed or suspected case of Covid, you can take the decision to refuse the pupil if, in your reasonable judgement, it is necessary to protect other pupils and staff from possible infection from Covid.’

What do you think?
