Coronavirus: How Much Learning Has Been Lost?

Lockdown from coronavirus is easing, students will be returning to school in September, how much learning do you think the students of the UK has lost of the last few months?

Lost Hours in the Hundreds

By the time schools close this month for summer, most pupils will have lost 70 days of normal school; this is explained by the amount of schools wanted to ‘catch up’ in the summer or intervention classes in September.

A student would have potentially lost: 350 hours of lessons! In addition to the 350 hours in lessons, 14 hours in extra-curricular activities, 35 hours of lunchtime and 17 hours of break time socialising with friends.

What are your thoughts on this? Is your school asking you to take part in the ‘Catch Up?’
